Thinking about what we’ve studied thus far in this course and what is yet to come (you may need to look ahead in your book), how can you use effective public speaking to become a more participative member of your community? To answer this thoroughly, you should identify an opportunity in which you might be interested (volunteering, running for office, working for a campaign, etc.). Describe the opportunity and why it interests you. Then identify one specific public speaking skill (research, delivery, etc.) you think might help you succeed in the opportunity you’ve identified; provide examples (real or hypothetical).
