PHI4313 Article Summary

Summary of one of the articles or chapters from week 4

The goal of this exercise is to read carefully one of the articles or chapters seen in class during week 4.

For this, you need to choose:

-One of the articles or chapters studied in class.

-Highlight one or several of the points made by author(s). These should be points that you find particularly compelling. You need to explain the points in question.

The purpose of exercise is to get you to read attentively and to be able to tease out an essential feature of the article. You are not to criticize or evaluate what the author(s) is putting forward. You are to summarize and explain only.

No bibliography is necessary; if you quote simply indicate the page of the quotation.

Even if the paper is short, it should have an introduction; a main body where you develop the explanation; a conclusion.

You will be graded on the clarity of the writing, the exposition and the comprehension of the article or chapter.     PHI

Support your ideas with at least three (3) sources using citations in your essay. Make sure to cite using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page in correct APA do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

Length: 1000-1500 words; answers must thoroughly address the prompts in a clear, concise manner.
