What did President Washington mean in his “farewell address” when he warned of the dangers of factions and divisions created by the negative impacts of “political parties”? what is the impact of party organization and leadership through the first century of our nation’s history in relation to the control and direction of our government and its policies? did Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Hayes, teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and other presidents have an impact on their “parties ” through their own policies and leadership, and how did they develop their party ideologies and platforms during their administrations?
