FORMAL ANALYSIS PAPER
You are required to visit either the Museum of Contemporary Art or the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago. Your task is to select a contemporary artwork from the collection and analyze the work based on its visual properties (formal elements). Taking good, detailed notes on the visual qualities and maybe even sketching the work will greatly assist you later, when you organize and write-up your formal analysis.
