Select a project in need of capital investment.  Examples of such projects include:

• A community-based prenatal-care project for substance-abusing mothers.
• Expansion of existing ambulatory surgery services to increase volume of procedures performed.

Research 3-5 primary and secondary sources to identify public and private funding for your project.  Examples include grants, donations, awards, or special projects.

Write a 1,000- to 1,250-word paper in which you:

• Summarize the background, goals, and needs of your project.
• Identify the primary and secondary sources of funding for your project along with the funding constraints for each source.
• Describe your plan to structure these sources to meet the project’s goals.
• Specify the potential internal ramifications that may arise while moving forward with the project along with your plan for managing them.
• Include financial data using charts and/or graphs

Choose an organization from the Hospital Compare website.

Review your selected hospital’s quality measures and performance data outlined in the tabs on the Hospital Profile.

• The available quality measures include:
  • Survey of patients’ experience
  • Timely & effective care
  • Readmissions, complications & death
  • Use of medical imaging
  • Medicare payment
  • Number of Medicare patients

Select a quality measure as the basis for this assignment.

*Be sure to select a quality measure that displays current hospital performance data.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper in which you:

• Describe your selected quality measure, including all sub-categories.
• Perform a GAP analysis of your hospital’s performance data by comparing them to State and National averages.
• Interpret your GAP analysis results and explain their significance as they relate to the hospital’s performance.
• Create a graphic comparison of actual performance versus state and national averages.
• Propose recommendations to fill any gaps that exist along with a timeframe for completion.
